Accessibility Statement

Hummingbird wants this website to be usable by as many people as possible. Accessibility is an ongoing responsibility, not a claim made once at launch.

Our current aim

This website has been designed toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We are testing the live site against that standard and will report the results here.

What you should be able to do

  • Navigate the site using a keyboard, with a clear focus indicator.
  • Zoom and resize text without losing essential content.
  • Use the site with common screen readers and assistive technology.
  • Understand page structure through meaningful headings and landmarks.
  • Read text against backgrounds with sufficient contrast.
  • Pause or avoid unnecessary motion.
  • Complete forms with clear labels, instructions and error messages.

Measures we take

Semantic HTML and logical headings; keyboard-accessible navigation and components; visible focus styles; responsive layouts and adequate touch targets; colour-contrast testing; alternative text for meaningful images; reduced-motion support; accessible form labels and validation; manual review alongside automated tools.

Known limitations

Any issues we find will be listed here: what is affected, the difficulty it causes, any workaround, what we are doing about it and a target date where realistic.

Third-party content

Some linked or embedded services are controlled by other organisations. We aim to select accessible services and avoid unnecessary embeds, but we may not be able to correct every issue within a third-party product.

Need information in another format?

If you need website information in a different format or need help completing an action, email info@thehummingbird.eco and tell us what you need and which page is involved. We will respond within five working days.

Report an accessibility problem

If you find an issue we have missed, please tell us: the page address, what you were trying to do, the device or assistive technology used (if you are comfortable sharing it) and what went wrong. We will acknowledge the report, investigate and explain what we can do.

Testing this website

Each review will be recorded here: the date, pages sampled, browsers and assistive technologies used, tools used, the reviewer, and whether it was a full conformance audit or a more limited check.
